The Successful First Edition of International Arogya 2017

India had been an incredible seat for Health and Wellness. International Arogya 2017 propagated the Ayurveda Goldmine of the country. International Arogya 2017 was organized by FICCI in collaboration with Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Pharmexcil. Supported by the PHD Chamber of Commerce, World Ayurveda Foundation, Vijanana Bharti and National Ayurveda Students and Youth Association, International Arogya 2017 is the global summit on Ayush and Wellness. Inaugurated by Shri Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH, this event emphasized on the immense potential of Traditional Indian Medicines. It was held in Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan during December 4th-7th 2017.

 

An amazing portfolio of 60 countries participated in the summit and 1600 dignitaries graced the occasion. The summit witnessed AYUSH Industry stakeholders, Government officials and industry leaders giving Ayush Healthcare Lectures. More than 250 manufacturers of alternative medicine showcased their products and services at International Arogya 2017. Group of International regulators from ASEAN and BIMSTEC countries along with Canada and Switzerland participated in the International Arogya 2017. International Arogya 2017 was a fruitful platform for International Investment Meet, Industry Farmer Interactive Meet, Reverse Buyer Seller Meeting and Planned B2B Session.

International Arogya 2017 was a mega conglomeration which displayed Ayush Products launched by direct sellers from across India, Live Yoga Demonstration, Medicinal Plants Expo and awareness on the cultivation of medicinal plants and Public Lecture Sessions. Free distribution of medicines and free health check-up and consultation by Ayush Specialists was a beneficial part of the summit. Public Awareness Programs with a focus on home remedies for the disease was also held.

The summit hosted two eminent launches:-

  • Ayush for the World by Frost & Sullivan– Mr.Sandeep Sinha, Vice President, Transformational Healthcare Practice, Frost & Sullivan launched white paper titled Ayush for the World during International Arogya 2017. It primarily provides insights into the regulatory requirements for herbal medicines in ASEAN and BIMSTEC nations. It declares India is the second largest exporter of Ayurvedic and alternative medicines to the world and has a calibre to generate three million job opportunities. Mr Sinha went on to emphasize, ‘’In the last few decades, traditional and herbal treatments have gained international acceptance and people are increasingly opting for these treatments owing to their safety, efficacy, cost-effectiveness and resonance with the modern quest for a healthy lifestyle. The Frost & Sullivan whitepaper launched at International Arogya 2017 is a facilitation roadmap for AYUSH regulations and registration in ASEAN and BIMSTEC countries, to unlock value and realize the maximum potential of AYUSH benefits and access to the world.”

 

 

  • Indian CEO’s Roundtable– Indian CEO’s Roundtable was the eye-opener part of International Arogya 2017.This was an informative session addressing several core issues of the industry. Variety of burning discussions ranging from Export Potential of AYUSH, Business Opportunities in Integrative Healthcare, Standardization and quality control in AYUSH sector were part of Indian CEO’s Roundtable. Workshop on essential herbal Raw Materials required in AYUSH Industry was also held.

 

Dr Sanjay Baru, Secretary General of FICCI said, “We are witnessing a highly receptive environment where the value of AYUSH systems is widely recognized worldwide, translating into growing global demand. A slew of reforms in administration, research strategies, nature of practice and education are underway, leading to heightened interest in the AYUSH system of medicine, both in India and abroad.”

Main Objectives of International Arogya 2017:-

  • Enhance the export of AYUSH medicines and products in the global market.
  • Establish India’s Role in order to generate employment in the industry of Health and Ayurveda.
  • Deep Insight into the strengths of Ayush Systems
  • This summit aimed to the recognition of Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Homeopathy and Yoga.
  • Exhibit the research and developments in Ayush Sector.

 

The First Edition of International Arogya 2017 has been immensely successful. It did convey an apt message to global counterparts. Our country stands to draw huge benefits from this summit in future.
